Why does my Note 5 screen stay on during calls?

Note 5 screen stays on during calls

Not sure if anyone who just bought the phone is having this problem, but my screen won't shut off during calls. Even when I hit the power button it pops right back on.

I have a Note 3, (can't afford a Note 5,) but anyhow in phone settings I can turn on/off the proximity sensor which controls the screen light during calls.
Tap green phone app>bottom left menu button> settings>call and you will find the option there if it works anything like the Note 3!

Unfortunately, the note 5 is configured differently. There is no such setting.
