Why does my phone reboot itself and then die

[Android Central Question]

For about a year now (I kept thinking it would go away) my phone will restart itself (soft reboot) and show a battery of 0-1% then die most recently was just today I pulled it off the charger (100%) turned it on and unlocked it then the screen went black and it buzzed back to life in my hand at 1%. Can anyone help me I'm so lost?

Is your battery dying? How long have you owned your smartphone? I had to replace my battery after about two and a half years. I purchased the same battery on Amazon and solved my problem. If I remember correctly - I think I spent around twelve bucks.

Which device? Sounds Ike your battery needs to be replaced

does the phone work when plugged in and charging? if so, then it is the battery. If not, then it is something else?

Sounds like a potential battery issue.

Sounds like an actual battery issue - a dendrite. The battery has to be replaced.
