Why does my phone say it's downloading, but isn't?

When I go onto the internet, I look for pictures or videos, I find one that I want and I download it. When I go to save it to my phone, it says Download Started. I go to check and my phone never actually downloaded anything. I try multiple times and it still just say the download started but it never actually did start. Someone please help.

Report which browser is used in your phone. Also open Google

PlayStore from -Home screen- and download any app to verify if

the phone download apps..Pics+Videos may use different method

I just use the regular browser that the phone already has on it. It worked just fine. I think I did delete the downloads folder in my gallery, thought I just deleted all the pictures in it. Would that have anything to do with it?

O Thx for post back: I suggested above to "Try" to download an app
from Play Store to verify if the Phone is -Able- To do So..If it does

means the Phone download folder is oK : I don't follow
you when try to download a Pic or video,.does it
offers a download button or how you Saved.?


Finally I'd ask you Togo to settings>>Reset & Back up >>Find
the option >>Reset default settings >>This task may
return the download folder to normal, but it would

change basic settings like your ring or Screen
timeout..You've to setup again: Report back

Yes. My phone can download from the playstore. It's just that I can't download from anywhere else. I can't even save an image I get from a friend in Messenger.

Also, in my backup and reset, it just asks if I want to do a full factory reset or create a backup Google account.

@jadeThe-1 : I guess you've no other choice than..goFor with
the FR=Factory reset to verify if the phone recover its default
functionality. I know is a Pain in,.To create the Google
account & other webmail pages, but canBe done
