Why does my phone shut down at 80% battery?

So, my Honor 7 shuts down at around 80% battery without any warning. Why does this happen? Can I solve this somehow without replacing the battery? Or do I need to spend 40€ to replace my battery in a local store?

It could be a bad battery.

If it is not warranty-covered, and you decide to replace it, I recommend buying an original battery from a reputable retailer. Honor themselves may be able to supply one.
