Why does my phone take so long to upgrade?

why my phone take so long to upgrade???

I upgrade my android alcatel one touch pop d5, but seems like something is wrong it boots up but then android is upgrading optimizing application comes up and ot takes forever like 12hrs and still going

Welcome to Android Central! That's clearly too long--something went wrong with the update process. You should bring the phone to your carrier and see what they can do, since the update was presumably pushed over the air by the carrier.
