Why does my S5 keep coming up with 'unfortunately, Samsung Galaxy has stopped'?

I've tried almost everything suggested. Even did a factory reset. The error popped up before I had even reached the home screen.

Welcome to Android Central! You're posting in a 7 year old thread about a very old phone (Galaxy S5). Do you actually have an S5, or is this happening on a more recent Galaxy phone?

If you are using a s5 its not going be compatible with lot of apps do to it being on a very old Android version and not being up to date any longer probably have to try reflasing the firmware if that firmware still available but a device that old is not worth fixing or troubleshooting at this time

Yep, still have one and still use it. I know it's an old phone.
Everything else seems to run fine, just the bloody annoying popup all the time. Can't disable Galaxy Store.

Looks like I might have to re-flash it with another firmware.

My guess is it has to do with how outdated the phones software is. You could probably use something like Package Disabler Pro to disable the Galaxy Store, but I'm also not sure if that app still works on an S5. Good luck!
