Why does my S7 get hot when it's charging?

Hot charging S7

Is it normal for the S7 to get hot when it is charging? If I use the charger from my LG G3 which is not a quick charger the phone remains at a normal temperature. I am really concerned when I charge it in my holster case.

If you're using the quick charger then yes it may get hot. If you go to settings>battery>fast charging, you can see there that there is a warning about the phone possibly getting hot.

Personally I'd just advise you to turn off fast charging. If the phone is very hot, it may be detrimental to the battery's lifespan.

If you're using a quick charge brick (or the default Samsung "fast charging" one) it is normal for it to get warm. It shouldn't be like burning hot but it will heat up due to it juicing up quick.
