Samsung Galaxy Centura turns off and on by itself.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Centura with straight talk from walmart, in january of 2014, in October of 2014 the phone started turning off and on by itself, I would turn it on and less than a minute later it turns itself off and back on and will repeat the process over and over, I bought 2 new batteries for it and it still has the same problem.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Centura turns off and on by itself.

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. The steps are probably the same as for the S3: s3, safe mode, i9300, ,GT-I9300 | Support | SAMSUNG Levant

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

I do not have enough time to turn on safe mode or uninstall apps, it turns itself off in less than 20 seconds or so.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Centura turns off and on by itself.

The Safe Mode boot procedure is done while powering on, as described in the link in my previous post. Are you saying that the phone shuts off during the boot process, before even getting to the homescreen?

How long did you charge up the new batteries before trying them out? Try charging them for at least 12 hours undisturbed from a wall outlet.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Centura turns off and on by itself.

The Batteries came fully charged, the phone shuts off 10 or so seconds after getting to the home screen, ive tried to use 'reset to factory' but it never works the phone shuts off too quickly, I cannot take off/put on anything.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Centura turns off and on by itself.

To get into Safe Mode, it shouldn't matter if the phone is restarting 10 seconds after the homescreen starts up. The sequence is as follows (according to the link I had previously given you):

1. Power on the device as you normally would.
2. When you see the Samsung logo animation, press and hold Menu until the homescreen appears.
3. If you were successful, you should see the words "Safe Mode" at the bottom left.

It's always possible the Safe Mode process is different for different regions--but have you tried these exact steps yet?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Centura turns off and on by itself.

First, try doing a factory reset if you can manage to get into the settings before it reboots, and if not, try doing it from revoery mode. If that doesn't fix it, it's a hardware issue, not the battery.

This happens very occasionally on my Nexus 4, but not at the frequency at which it occurs for you.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Centura turns off and on by itself.

I managed to turn safe mode on, to no avail it simply rebooted again.
