Why does my Samsung Galaxy S4 say it is charging when it is not?

why does my samsung galaxy s4 say it is charging when it is not

My samsung galaxy s4 started to not charge propably it says that it is charging but half of the time it is draining battery when it is turned off does anyone know what the problem is

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried other cables and/or wall charging plugs? Is this happening when plugged into a wall outlet or a computer USB port?

The battery might also be failing--consider trying a new battery.

I have tryed all of that but it still wont charge propably

If a new battery doesn't charge, and you already tried different cables and chargers, then the problem may lie with the hardware--either the microUSB port or the motherboard. Make sure the port is clear of any debris.

Well it seems to charge after i do a cache partition before i charge and it seems to work but it might be lucky everytime
