Samsung S4 Mini keeps switching image storage from SD card to device

I have been saving my photos to my SD card since I bought my phone 2 years ago. For some reason, it now keeps switching the setting back to saving to the device and won't keep the SD card setting even if I change it before taking an image... I just get a message saying it couldn't save to the SD card. However, the SD card is still working fine. Has there been an update that's potentially caused this or could anyone help me with getting it sorted?

Sounds like the phone is having problems with the card. They DO go bad. Maybe take it out, copy its contents to a computer, then reformat it? That will also mark any "bad blocks" so the phone doesn't try using them anymore. Or replace it, they are dirt cheap.
