I just got the LG V10 about 2 weeks ago. Recently it will dim, twice, on its own when I'm using it. I don't know why, I've checked all my settings,and I don't know why it's doing it. It's not hot when it happens but it just does it randomly. Its kind of annoying. Please, if someone knows anything, please help.

All i ended up doing was turning my brightness down to 80, timeout to 1 minute and restarted the phone and i haven't had the issue since
Been scouring the net to see if it was a known issue or something but can't find any other reports other than yours

There is a post on the lgv10 subreddit that suggests the PayPal apply be the culprit. I have had the issue and just deleted the app to test if it resolves.

Thank you. I'm having this issue too and I was become emotionally distressed no joke! Tmobile rep told me that it was something to do with my smart settings...which was wrong!!!

This thread had me watching the phone ... and I'm not getting this issue.

Yea, PayPal is the culprit, the minute you open up the PayPal app the screen goes real dark / light.

Mine is doing it when I watch videos that I've taken. It starts out fully bright and then as it continues it gets darker and darker. I may have the PayPal app but I never opened it. Nope, I take that back the PayPal app didn't come forward from the Google App Store. So for me it's just in the videos on the SD card. The really short videos of the grandchildren taken with the Galaxy Note 2 it is now dead. Long live the v10.

When you're watching a video, there is a separate brightness option in the video app. When set to auto, it is very aggressive. Try uncheck the auto brightness in the video app.
Not sure why you people keep asking the same question.. The guy that said the PayPal app was the issue is correct. I had the problem for like a month, deleted the PayPal app and the problem dissapeared. It makes sense since the app kept crashing every time I tried to open it. If you don't have the PayPal app I suggest looking for another app with the same symptoms. I have not tried installing the PayPal app again
