It’s a genuine S22?

No plastic screen protector on it?

Well, I was thinking that a plastic protector might scratch easily, but if it is the glass screen itself, I don't understand it. All screens acquire fine scratches from gritty dust etc., and these are visible under close inspection with the display switched off; but I've never heard of the sort of scratches that you describe, and in fact I should have thought it would be impossible.
I'll move the thread to the S22 forum for comments from other users.

Welcome to Android Central. :)

Unless your fingernails are made of diamonds, I don't think they'd scratch your screen. Are you certain there isn't some residue from your nails that's rubbing off on the screen? Have you tried wiping it off with a damp towel?

Is the film that is shipped with the phone for protection still on the phone?

Mine had a film on it when I received it. It's funny because I thought I got all the film off but found some on the sides still on a week later that I hadn't seen initially.

Yeah I was surprised they still wrapped the sides, top, bottom lol I left mine on

Yep, Found the same a few months later on my S21+ after getting a new case.

I doubt it's your fingernails; they aren't hard enough. I never use a screen protector on mine but dedicate my left pocket exclusively to the phone (no keys, hard wallet, etc) with screen facing inward, and don't have a single scratch.
