Why does my screen time out so fast when in call with automated services while using bluetooth?

I use true wireless bluetooth ear buds. Have been for several years now. I often times have to deal with automated services in calls and will be prompted to enter whole sets or individual numbers. My problem is that the screen times out nearly every time before the requested prompt, causing me to sometimes tap the screen and hitting a wrong number in the process. Why is there no settings for in call screen timeout? ..

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? What's the current screen timeout set to? Are you saying that while in a call, the screen times out faster than than the system setting?

Also, do you have any power-saving modes turned on?
