Why does my streaming app time out when in Always On Display mode?

While listening to my radio apps in Always On Mode, they cut out after about 2-3 minutes until I turn it back on. Is there a way to adjust that?

I had that on my S8. I had to allow notifications for the music app, make it priority and be sure they are allowed to show in the lock screen. Looking at my settings, I even have music controller set for face widget. After that, my music worked fine.

Edit: Also make sure your device maintenance isn't putting it to sleep to save battery. It has to be allowed to run in the background.
