Why does my tecno spark screen turns dark when am calling

My phone goes dark when am making a call and wouldn't come on until the person ends their call?

Welcome to the forums. That sounds like a problem with the proximity sensor. Are you using a screen protector or a case?

When you make a call to your ear it's supposed to turn off so no accidental touch while talking on the phone, then when you pull it away should come back on the screen, does it respond when you tap the screen or power button?

Welcome to Android Central! As mentioned before, this issue is often due to the proximity sensor malfunctioning. The most common reason would be something blocking the sensor, like a screen protector, a poorly fitting case, or some grime on the screen directly overlying the sensor. Check for any of that.
