tell us more about whats going on with your phone. are you rooted. are you on dl09? has it worked before?

Not Routed and I dont know what dl09 means and yes it has worked before. Works good for a few days and then no updates. I just re-booted and seen all the e-mail from early this morning. I knew it was there because I checken my laptop for mail and none of the mail I had seen on my laptop waas on the phone till a reboot.

My wife is having the same problem with her Forntier.com (formally Verizon) email. We took the phone back to Verizon and got a new one, worked for about a day then nothing (the support people at Verizon didn't know what was wrong). Her phone is stock with the new dl09 update, but this issue was happening before the update as well. She is using the stock mail program that comes on the phone. Gmail seems to update just fine. If the phone is shut down and rebooted it seems to update once maybe twice and then nothing. When you try and retrieve email the icon in the upper right corner will spin and then nothing ever updates.

I have deleted the account and recreated it and still the same behavior. I'm not sure what to try next....I don't understand what would make it update after the phone is rebooted, but then not update after that. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be great.

My Laptop is not. Verizon.net is an internet e-mail and getting the e-mail is done through the site. Should be simple to get it. I dont understand it. by the way I do have the DL09 update. Everything on this is stock. Very unreliable system. I dont use Gmail either so I dont know what to do.

ok. im assuming verizon is your cable provider? or is this an email any one can sign up for? either way what are the different ways verizon can be set up for clients, ie pop3, imap?

Ok, I have been able to finally fix this for my wife (yeah points for me!!). So this is what I was able to figure out:

1. Deleted the original Frontier account
2. On Fascinate while in email select Add Account from the settings
3. In the email setup screen enter the Frontier email account (user@frontier.com) and the account password
4. Choose the send email from this account be default if you want to
5. On the bottom of that screen choose Manual Setup
6. In the Manual Setup screen choose the Exchange Account...yes that's right choose the Exchange Account
7. In the Domain\Username space enter your full Frontier email address
8. In the password space enter your password
9. In the Exchange Server space enter: webmail.frontier.com
10. Make sure both the Use Secure Connection (SSL) and Accept All SSL Certificates check boxes are checked
11. Select the desired frequency for checking email on the next screen
12. Give this email connection a name

That's it. This seems to work well for her. I have tested and the email get's "pushed" right away and it also leaves a copy of the email in your Frontier online Inbox.

The only thing that will not work is if you already have an Exchange email account setup. The Fascinate can only have one Exchange email account setup at a time.

Hope this helps....
