Why does my voice mail say can not load?

I can not get voice mail. It says can not load. Please help me to find this.

Welcome to Android Central! Voicemail is controlled by your carrier -- have you asked them about this? Also, open your Phone app, tap Menu>Settings>Call Settings>Voicemail and make sure it's properly set up.
