Why does my Xperia T shut down when the battery is below 70?

Xperia T - Phone Shuts Down When Battery Below 70%

Hello!
Currently I'm having a problem with my 4.3 Android Xperia T.
I've done factory reset .. resoft...even changed my SIM Card but nothing changed.
Whenever battery drops below 70% , phone keeps turning off and on.
After 2-3 cycles, battery is very low (10-15%) and I have no phone signal.
I remove my SIM Card (phone restarts because SIM was removed) and put my SIM card in slot.
After restart , I receive phone signal and now battery is 50% and phone seems to work fine.

Could it be a battery problem ?

Welcome to Android Central.

I believe it could. That was my own diagnosis. In a way, that would be good, because it would be cheap and easy to fix.
