I use a Nexus 4 - using 4.4.4 connected to a TP-LINK router on my home network. I don't have issues in connecting to the network or connection drops. But, while I download any large files or update apps from Play etc, Wi-Fi connection becomes idle few seconds after the download starts. I installed Internet Speed Meter to monitor the upload/download speed and when this problem occurs, the speed stays at 0KB/s.
If I open chrome or any other app, the connection is still open and I can browse without issues. So, I need to keep doing some browsing in parallel to keep the connection active, in order for the download to continue in the background. Is this a known issue with 4.4.4 or can this be corrected using any WiFi settings ?
