Why does play store randomly open when I'm not even using my phone?

Play store randomly opens with ads when I'm not even using my phone! JUST got the phone a week ago, I don't even play games.

Welcome to Android Central! The Play Store will never give you ads. What you're seeing is probably adware related to some other app you installed. Uninstall apps one by one and see if the ads go away.

Also, which phone do you have? Some phones specifically come with adware, which reduces the cost of the phone to you (like the Amazon Prime Exclusive editions of certain phones).
