Why does pressing the dial button bring up phone logs?

why does pressing the dial button bring up phone logs

I would like to have my att galaxy s5 only go to the dial keypad when I press the phone button. As it is now if I have missed a call and then need to make a call when I press the phone button it will bring up the log screen. I do not care about the log screen. I want the phone button to always show the dial pad. If I want to look at the call log I will select the log button from the dial pad.
