Why does textra re send old texts

[Android Central Question]

Lately about a week or two later
I keep getting text messages that I have dealt with already the week before
It sends it again to me

I have had it happen with various people now

What can I do to fix this ?

Welcome to Android Central! They don't show up as duplicate in the stock Messages app? Or have you disabled that?

I'm using Textra and not having that kind of issue.

Once you have joined, maybe you can tell us what phone you're using. Then answer the question above.

Can always try clearing the app cache. Maybe even reboot the phone if you haven't tried that already.

I know this situation happened to me years ago, but with Chomp SMS, I believe. Texts from months ago went to different contacts.

Does the same thing happen with other SMS apps, like your stock messaging app?
