Why does the 120hz refresh rate stop after 3 seconds?

[Android Central Question]

Since the security update in September 2021, my Note 20 Ultra's adaptive refresh rate stops working after 2-3 seconds. Since I got the phone in January, I've had the 120hz rate enabled and never had an issue. I'm a big Pokémon GO player so it was nice to have the smooth gameplay but since the security update, the refresh rate works for 2-3 seconds, then drops down to 60hz if I don't touch the screen. Once it drops to 60hz, if I touch any part of my screen, it goes back to 120hz for 2-3 seconds and then drops back down. Is there any fix to this? Thanks in advance!

You have a app that monitors it between 10hz and 60? Its adaptive and possible that game needs a update
