Android Central Question

The Always-on display of my LG V30 no longer works in the dark. Its very annoying for many reasons as you can imagine. The AOD works fine in a lighted area, but in total darkness, it shuts off. It used to work fine, but at some point it stopped, and I honestly don't know if happened as a result of an OS upgrade or app installation or what. Anyone have any suggestions?

Along with checking your sensor, you might check any setting options you have for display or AOD, because it is actually acting as designed. It shouldn't be on if it is in a purse or pocket so when sensing total darkness it shuts off. Have you gotten any updates to your system or OS lately? I seem to remember some complaints about AOD never turning off. Not sure what models but you may find a sensitivity setting or something related.
