Why does the Droid Charge benchmark so poorly?

Why is it that this phone scores so poorly on benchmark tests. The performance is better than my old Droid 2 and close to my wives Thunderbolt. Is there a certain benchmark that I should be using to get a more accurate score?

Convert the file system from RFS to EXT4 and you should get around 1550 in quadrant. I recommend Xcon's awesome Altered Beast rom. It's truly a BEAST ;)

I believe the samsung file system is the issue. Once you rom it or when we get gingerbread the true potential of the charge will be realized. Check out droidxcon's work for a taste.

I will give it a try. I have been holding off on rooting until my return window is up. I only have two more day left and I think there is a high probability of me keeping it. I am tempted by the Xperia Play though.

Root it before your return is up. If you brick it. You should not because the directions are crystal clear. Anyway if you do you can say this POS just died. I want to return it.

Please read the rooting instructions carefully and read the entire thread over at XDA-Developers. I say this as a positive and a cautionary tale. The devs who put the kernel root cwm package together have made it clear that you MUST disable voodoo before attempting to return your Charge to stock image and do not attempt to restore your Charge (if running voodoo) with CWM Recovery, they are working on that part. Failure to pay attention to those two items (pretty simple) will result in problems you don't want.

Now that said, converting from rfs to ext4 does greatly improve the Charge and I look forward to converting mine soon.

how to convert system file from rfs to ext4?

Rooted DC ED1...will someone be kind enough to step me through converting system file from rfs to ext4? Thank you VERY much in advance!
