Why does the iPhone get such better battery life?

Are you sure you guys used them in the same manner... Reason being is because it all depends on the situation, usage, coverage, wifi vs. 3g, all of that... My phone is as good as good as a iphone when it idles. Using it heavily id say its ok... But people complain about iphone batteries too so i dont know. It all depends on what your doing.. Also as someone else mentioned the battery in the evo is pushing a 4.3 inch screen.. The iphone is pushing a tiny screen..

Both phones using only 3G. Granted I have my email set to push immediately, whereas the other person has it set to refresh when opened manually (surely this one difference would not account for such a drastic difference). The thing is I see him messing with it all day, and yet after nearly 17 hours off the charger, he was still at 48%. I'm at 60% after 4 or 5 hours. I know there are lots of variables here, but it seems in this one comparison that there's no doubt that the iPhone gets phenomenally better battery life.
