Why does the watch name have to be so difficult

Trying to find accessories online such as Amazon is so difficult based on the rediculous way LG named the watch. Here are some of the ways and various combinations of wording i had to search with different results lol. If chargers and protectors come out i have no idea how people would list them to hit all these variations.

LG Urbane 2
LG Urbane 2nd edition (lte)
LG (Watch) Urbane 2nd Generation (lte)
ect....ect....

Actually I'm confused too!
Before I bought the watch 2 days ago, I thought there were 2 Urbane watches:
- LG Urbane
- LG Urbane 2nd edition LTE

I bought the 2nd edition. But on the package it says "LG Urbane 2nd edition 3G".
So there is a difference between "LG Urbane 2nd edition" and "LG Urbane LTE" ?

Actually in the settings of my watch I can only choose between 2G and 3G. LTE would be 4G but I don't have that option.
And I don't find any WiFi-settings.

Or is this 3G-edition a special European edition?

Yes... there is a difference. The LG Watch Urbane LTE is not an AW device: LG Watch Urbane LTE: Everything you need to know about the 4G smartwatch

Of course, the LG Watch Urbane is an AW device: LG Watch Urbane review

And, neither of these is the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition: LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition: Everything you need to know

I'm even more confused now.
The third link you posted (the one to the "LG Urbane 2nd Edition") links to an article about a "LG Urbane 2nd Edition LTE.

Lets put it in a timetable:

LG first released the "LG Urbane". A AW-smartwatch with no phone-functions (no SIM-Card). That's the watch with only one button.
Then they released the "LG Urbane 2 LTE" with a proprietary OS (not AW). That's the one with 3 identical buttons. It went on sale but was soon cancelled (hardware issue).
Lately they released the "LG Urbane 2nd Edition" (or "LG Urbane 2) (or "LG Urbande 2nd Edition LTE). That's the one with 3 buttons, the upper und the lower look different than the one in the middle.
Is this correct? If so, what a mess with the names!!!

As I read in most of the comments this last watch should be "LTE".
So why is my watch called "LG Urbande 2nd edition 3G" ?
Here where I live (Switzerland) we have full 4G/LTE-net. But in the watch's settings I can only choose between 2G and 3G.

The LG Urbane LTE (3 identical buttons and not AW) was released in South Korea in March of 2015 but I don't think it made it to the US. http://m.androidcentral.com/lg-watch-urbane-lte-launch-korea The LG Urbane 2nd Edition was released in November of last year and then recalled. The recent release in March of this year is the same watch. I've never heard of the "3G" model.

I agree with the name mess.

@salbfit,

That history is not correct. There are three different versions in this order

1. Watch Urbane. AW, BT only.
2. Watch Urbane LTE. WebOS, LTE radio, Released in South Korea only. The LTE probably only contains bands for SK.
3. Watch Urbane 2nd Edit LTE (sometimes the LTE is omitted by some sites). AW, LTE/HSPA/GSM. Both the Nov edition that recalled and the new edition all have the same name. Both have the exact same name. I had both and can't tell any difference.

I'm not aware there was ever a 3G version at all. It might be region specific release that it can't pack in the different LTE band for that region. Hence, they omitted the LTE and called it 3G which is HSPA.

US/ATT version of the watch supports 850/1900/2100 for HSPA. Only the 2100Mhz band will work out side of North America. LTE bands are 850/1900 only. These two bands only work in North America.

US/Verizon version only supports 800Mhz LTE band used by Verizon. It can't be used with any other carrier or outside US.

No idea what international versions will support. It definitely won't be as many bands as a phone can do.

thank you for your detailed answers!
Yes, probably the 3G-Version is a local or European version.
I sent LG a support question to clarify this.

That's my watch:

Yeah haven't seen that before. Still don't know why it wouldn't have Wi-Fi settings if it's a "European" edition.

Just curious, on the side of the box what model, build, OS Version does it show?

I have the AT&T version and it shows LG-W200A.

So, it is a special version for Europe where it omits LTE radio (European LTE bands are too many and different than base GSM bands). It has no bands for North America at all.
