Why does USB flash drive get a re-format from Pixel 6 and then it cannot work on my PC?

Move music from PC to Pixel 6 using USB flash drive. Drive works in PC with Fat32 format. Next I plug into the Pixel 6, and it wants to reformat the drive. After reformat, Pixel 6 is cleaned of data. So go back to PC, plug it in to USB port, and flash drive is not readable. Format again. Back to Pixel 6 format not recognized. Pixel reformats. This circle continues infinitely.

Welcome to Android Central! Is this a pretty recently manufactured USB drive from a well-known company, or is it pretty old? Do you have any other USB drives that you can test?
