Why does Verizon keep OnePlus off their network?

I have the Pixel XL and I'm looking at getting another device. I love the Pixel XL but I have problem with wanting to try it all lol and the OP3t was of interest......until I found out it does not work with VZW. Why is this?

Whilst the North American model, A3000, of the OnePlus 3 will work on Verizon's old 2G and 3G CDMA networks and is partially compatible with its 4G/LTE network on Band4-AWS and Band2-1900MHz, Verizon have a history of not being keen to adopt handsets that they do not directly control or run their own firmware/bloatware that they can, in turn, earn revenue from.

I thought the OP3 was gsm only. Good to know.
