Fast charging doesn't always work

My phone is only a couple months old and lately when I connect it to the fast charger it won't work right away. It'll just say it's "charging" and I have to keep unplugging it until fast charge finally works.

I've heard of others having this problem as well. Is this a common issue? Is it the USB cables that are faulty?

Which phone do you have?

Re: Fast charging doesn't always work

Hi, I asked this question. I have the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
Here's another thread (S6 Edge, not plus) with the same problem. The original poster got the issue fixed by replacing the phone and charger (Best Buy just did a full replacement). However, users in the thread are reporting a number of solutions that might be worth a try, the most effective seems to be replacing the USB cable. However, before doing that, I'd suggest you give the other fixes a try (making sure the cable is pushed all the way in, toggling USB Debugging off, etc.) - http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s6-edge/520990-fast-charging-not-working.html

I find it depends on the USB cable with the LG V10. Some of my older cables don't work, while two of my newer cables do work fine (one of which is the OEM cable).

I have no way to tell technically by looking at them which ones will work and which will not. SO in other words if I go to Frys and see all the USB cables on peg board, I have no idea how to tell which ones will fast charge.
