Why doesn't my phone open?

My phone doesn't open

Hi.
I had over night my phone for charging under the pillow, in the morning i found my phone S4 red hot and from this time never open and the battery was 2 times bigger, i bought new battery but not charging not open i did everything, a guy with pc and phone repair told me that it is the charging port..... i hope it has not damaged the motherboard.... Has anyone had this experience....???

Charging the phone while it is under your pillow is dangerous. You were lucky that only your phone was damaged, and that it did not cause a fire, or explode.
