Why doesn't my S3 touchscreen always work?

My s3 touchscreen doesn't always work

when I first turn on the phone the touchscreen works but slowly quits. The screen will start to jerk to one side or the other. All the hard buttons work.

Welcome to Android Central! It sure sounds like your screen is failing. I would suggest bringing to a repair shop for screen replacement.
