Why doesn't the encryption of my external sd never finish?

encryption of external sd never finishes

Hi all! Yesterday I chose the option to encrypt the external sd card in my galaxy s3. With my phone charger and over 80% all night the process is still incomplete, and I have a notification that has been up all night about my sd that just says "checking for errors" .according to my security settings, the process appears incomplete, but have no clue of progress or any other indication that this is true.

Any ideas whats going on?

Welcome to the forums. Was this a new card or an older one?

It's fairly old. And the notification actually says "preparing sad card - checking for errors"

Sorry about the delay. I would try a new card, format it with the card in the phone and try again.
