I dont get video with my chromecast

I plugged my new chromecast into my tv and the streaming goes well except for 1 thing i dont get video can you give me any tips or something ???

Re: I dont get video with my chromecast

When you say you don't get video, what do you mean? No image at all? So you can only stream audio?

Re: I dont get video with my chromecast

i mean that when i stream of youtube then i only get the music of the video and not the image

I also had one problem with installing the chromecast
normally it should read a code on the screen when first installing it to prove that you are working with the right one

i only get a dark screen no chrom logo or anything just sound

Re: I dont get video with my chromecast

So, when you plug in your Chromecast to your TV, without your phone, does it show anything? It should show a Chromecast backdrop slideshow. If it doesn't, I'd try it either in a different TV port or a different TV (you don't need to pair it, just plug it in). If it doesn't work in another TV, get it replaced, it's probably a hardware problem.

Also, not sure if Chromecasts have issues with video on European TV's since HDMI doesn't really fall under the NTSC/PAL standards, but that might also be an issue (if that's your case).

Re: I dont get video with my chromecast

well my friend has one aswell and it works fine
but if i putt it in my TV i only get sound and if i put it in 2 others i don't have anything(as in i tried it on 2 different TV's)

and when i plug it in i only get a black screen it says it is connected but i only get a black screen

Re: I dont get video with my chromecast

Again, and I'm sorry but I got a little confused...

Your friends' Chromecast works fine in your TV as well, or when you connect it to your TV you have the same issue (no video, only audio)? If the latter is the case, then it might be your TV's HDMI port.

But if it's the first case, and from the rest of your message I assume that your Chromecast does the same thing (or worst) in two more TV's, then I'd say it's definitely a Chromecast issue and you should take this in for warranty replacement.
