Why don't my mic from Apple earbuds work?

Recently, I've been having a lot of issues on my phone. I have a Samsung S6, and quite frequently, Samsung Voice or Samsung Music would randomly start up & interrupt my call (the other person on the line wouldn't be able to hear me) and drains my battery charge. To make things worse, my mic randomly stopped working for my phone, and first, I assumed my mic broke. However, when I asked my brother to call me using his IPod Touch on FB, I muted myself on the call and the mic worked perfectly fine for his IPod. Please note that other earbud mics do work on my phone, just not my apple ones. Why is this? Can someone help?

Apple earbuds and Android earbuds are wired differently. One will sometimes work on the other, then suddenly stop working. Don't mix them. If you have an iPhone use Apple earbuds, if you have an Android use Android earbuds.

So true. Recently, I discovered how good Apple earbuds sound on my Samsung phones. That, and the fact they heu're pretty comfortable and don't require a lot of adjusting leaves me disappointed that they are imdees wired differently than designed-for-Android buds.
