Why don't words save in my dictionary anymore?

About 2 weeks ago my personal dictionary decided to get wiped clean and since then, whenever I type a new word, it only stays stored in the while my current the keyboard session is active. Once I done sending that text or writing anything and the keyboard goes away, it's like I've never typed the word before. This is getting frustrating and there isn't an option that got unchecked that says to store or not to store new words. I'm on the factory keyboard.
