AC Question

When trying to navigate, the map continually shows "searching for gps"..all location settings are turned on for accessing?

What phone do you have?

What accuracy setting are you using for your location?

Are you standing outside with a clear view of the sky?

And if the phone is a Samsung, you run GPS Status & Toolbox outdoors, not under trees, and it still can't find the GPS location, create a free account here and post to this thread and I'll give you a method of resetting the GPS (it's just punching in some numbers to the phone and 2 text boxes, then choosing a few menu choices - some Samsung GPS modules are tricky.)

Rukbat,

My phone is a Samsung, and I have GPS Status & Toolbox and outdoors, not under trees, I still can't find the GPS location enough to get turn by turn navigation anymore.

Does your offer to help work for me too?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 India.
Since last few updates my Navigation mode also shows a greyed out "current location arrow" and shows a bubble message "searching for gps" and stays that way for ever.

(I request affected users to please report this issue to google asap. With heading "searching for gps"). You can also copy my above paragraph if your issue is similar.

I tried:
Restart, clear cache, reinstall, meanwhile upgraded to Marshmallow, phone factory rest etc. Nothing helped.

Research :
Under Google Play > Google Maps > reviews > filter to show by latest, from this device model only>
I found that most of the S5 users were affected. And there might be more unreported affected devices.
I'm assuming the bug is affecting mostly Samsung users & particularly S5 & Note5 users.

I'm looking to install the v9.22.2 of Google Maps (I think this and previous versions were not affected by this bug)
But I'm unable to find a trusted source.

Any help to make Google notice and fix the issue & any help finding the trusted v9.22.2 is greatly appricated.

Cheers

Hello - I'm having the same issue with my Galaxy A3 (2016). Nothing helped so far :( Could you be so kind and help me and give me instruction to reset the GPS as well?

Thanks:)
