Android Central Question

If I swipe on the home screen Google Discover appears with no cards.

In "More" "Customise" is greyed out.

A few days ago I got an error message saying it had stopped.

I cannot find a way to restore the cards.

Any suggestions?

Moto G5 with Android 8.1.0

Well I have now, and still no improvement!

I would have thought that if I cleared system cache and rebooted everyting would start up from zero.

I suppose I could do a Factory Reset and let mys configuration re-build itself - but that seems overkill.

I might just have to wait a few weeks. If it's a Google bug it will clear sooner or later!

How about uninstall the update to Google app and not updating it ?

I think I'll just wait this one out. It's not the end of the world. About the same time Google Home started crashing but I uninstalled and reinstalled that and now it is fine.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Ok , the only next step I can think of is factory reset but like you said wait a little and see.

I am having the same issue on my Pixel 5 and same issue on my Pixel 1. Was this ever resolved if so what was the solution. This issue is now three days old, I have done all that is mentioned in this chat.

About the only thing that hasn't been suggested is Safe Mode. I doubt that it would work, but we might as well add it to the list of attempted fixes.
