Why has my S4 screen gone black?

S4 black screen

Hi . my galaxy s4 has a black screen now its broken and black and the phone still working like it gives alarms and notification light ... I want a way using my PC to let me retrieve my contacts without asking me to do something on th phone cuz i cant see nothing ... i could put both of my laptop and the phone on the same wifi network if there is away using this too .... PLEASE I NEED HELP

The first problem is your screen, if you can't see anything, you can't do anything. What you want to do is called screen mirroring, and doing so, either to a laptop or another device, will require authentication and you might also need to do. For some devices you might need to reset them in order to mirror the screen to another device which might mean loss of data. which device are you using and what is the OS on your laptop?
