Why has my Samsung keyboard stopped working?

When I tried to type my password on my Samsung Galaxy J5, the keyboard would not come up. I went onto the camera (because it does not require a password) and the same message "Unfortunately, Samsung keyboard has stopped" comes up. I have tried powering it off and then back on and I have tried resetting it, but the same thing happens.

Hello. I have the same problem as the OP. I have tried to follow the instructions for Safe Mode (as above) but the problem still arises. The nub of the issue is that a password is required to unlock the phone, and this password cannot be entered if the keyboard isn't coming up.

Welcome to Android Central! Try connecting a basic USB keyboard via an OTG adapter, and use that to enter the password temporarily. Then try installing a 3rd party keyboard.
