Why has my Samsung Tab A 8 Stop seeing the SD card?

Samsung Tab A 8 Stops "seeing" SD card

I have a SanDisk 32GB SD in a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8. The tablet will periodically not show the SD card or it's contents. Turning the tablet off and then on the SD is accessible again. The SD card doesn't lose or corrupt information, it's like the tablet no longer sees it. It is not necessary to reseat the card.
