Why has my sceen started dimming and flickering?

[Android Central Question]

My Samsung S7 screen has started dimming except the status bar which stays bright.
The bottom of the screen starts to flicker with green/black vertical bars.
At first it was only happening sometimes, and was fixed by turning it off/on again. Now it is like that all the time.
I have turned off all the power saving settings and the screen is set to amoled cinema. The auto adjust brightness is off too.
Any clues why this is happening?

Try safe mode and make sure developer settings not on , might also have a hardware issue.
