Why has my text messages stopped making a sound when I get a text on my Samsung S9 plus?

Why has my text messages stopped making a sound when I get a text on my Samsung S9 plus? It still vibrates but I dont get any text tone. I've checked my settings etc. I really don't wanna have to do factory reset.

what messaging app are you using? have you tried to clear cache for the app? or maybe change the ring tone?
