Why haven't you switched to iPhone?

So you have no reason to switch and therefore don't even think about switching. Have you ever used iPhone? If not and you started with iPhone, do you think you'd feel the same about iOS?
I've used Symbian, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and now Android. I've never owned an iPhone, but I have family and friends who do, and I've tried their iPhones. I never cared for the UI, and I never liked iTunes. I just don't see any reason why I'd choose an iPhone, given my dislike of the UI. I also prefer listening to FLAC and WAV music files using a DAC, so the lack of support for those formats is another issue for me.

Oh, ok fair enough. I thought maybe you had started out with Android and felt it a good fit from the start. I totally agree; the lack of file support on an iPhone is one of the reasons I keep coming back to Android.

Every once in a while, my girlfriend asks for help with her iPhone. Every time I try to help, I want to scream. Most things that I can do easily on Android, I have to adopt an inverted form of thinking for iOS. It's not a bad thing, just frustrating when trying to troubleshoot.

Unless this has changed, I do a lot of file transfers and would miss drag and drop.

I've been having to help family members as of late because iOS 10 is so buggy, and I have noticed some changes that make things on iPhone more intuitive and a little more Android-like, but now that I've been back on Android for a couple months, the iOS UI feels less smooth and, like you said, hard to troubleshoot when I forget where everything is :p.

With me it's pretty straight and simple. I can't afford an iPhone! :P

Cost used to be my reason for not getting an iPhone. I just didn't think any phone should cost that much. But I ended up buying a Pixel recently. So my reason now is simply I'm a Google fanboy. I had the Nexus 4, 5, 6P, and now Pixel. There's something about stock Android.

Control over my device. I have an iPhone 6 which I occasionally use, but if I use it for an extended period of time I start missing the freedom android gives me.

Don't want to start over with a new system, love the customizability and freedom of Android if you root it and if course custom Roms for the win.

The pluses on Android far outweigh those on iOS. Five years ago, I never would have considered giving up my iPhone to use an Android phone.

Although I still have a 6S and a 6S+ today, I my current Android phones more than any iPhone I have. Sometimes though on my Android phones, I get so tired of the random battery drains that I have never had on any iPhone. I just have to get used to closing all apps when I set my phone down or else I get the random battery drains. Doesn't happen all the time but I can set the phone down and pick it up an hour later and find the battery down by 10-15 % or even more. This happens mostly on my Note 5 but once in a while on my S7 Edge as well.

My next phones will likely be the S8 Edge and also the next Note.

I prefer Android to IOS .
Android is much easier to change things such as custom tones.
On IOS even with using an app(zedge) still have to plug into itunes and jump though hoops to change to a custom sound..
Yes I have both

What keeps me on Android? Mostly the fact that I have zero need to switch off. I don't have a ton of purchased apps anchoring my on Android, so that's not much of a pull. But I have all the apps I need... and I have a lot of data stuffed into my Google account... music, years of gathered and tabulated data, etc...

Google Now has become an integral part of my life, from looking out for my commute, keeping track of my bills, appointments, etc. Now iOS does have a lot of that functionality, but Google's stuff runs best on, well, Google's stuff. And Apple has iOS so locked down that I would lose a lot of the personalized awareness that I enjoy.

So really, I can't think of any compelling argument for me to even consider switching. The software, the ecosystem, the devices... I'm sorry, as a whole, Android and Google are superior.

I know exactly what you mean. I went from iPhone 5 to Galaxy S5, and I liked Android better, but then I started using a Moto X Pure Edition and now I use a 6P and I don't think I could even go back to Samsung at this point. Stock Android is just clean and gorgeous.

I love the versatility in file support on Android too. Especially when it comes to ringtones. It's awesome that you can just load a song and in most cases make it your ring tone. The hoops you have to jump through with iOS are cumbersome and not worth the time.

Several reasons.

1) I love my emulators. Yes - you can jailbreak your iPhone and get them but then you can't update your iPhone until another jailbreak comes out for the next version of iOS.

2) Drag and drop from any computer. I love that I can plug my Android device into my work computer and drag and drop any file that I want on my device.

3) Nova Launcher - The customization is beyond just wallpaper. I can do whatever I want with my homescreen.

I agree. Launchers are what keep me loving Android and will likely always keep me coming back.

Apple's constraints on it's users is something that doesn't go well with me.

I've been an Apple user for more than 10 years. Still use a Mac daily, and I have 3 ipads and 1 iphone at home. But iOS is a ******* nightmare to have in a phone. App Store is worse every day. Apple sucks at Cloud Services and is just a mess.

Google services, plus the performance I get from my S7 Edge has no comparison with any iPhone.

I'll totally agree with you on Apple putting its customers in a box, and the host of Google apps are WAY better than iCloud. Having to save stuff to iCloud and then get it back down again is cumbersome and maddening. The interface is a joke. Good call.

The only thing really appealing to me about iPhone is the camera. Having come from BlackBerry and eventually switching to Android, I just don't feel comfortable on an iPhone. The OS is annoying to me. I do love my MBP and Apple TV, but that's about it for me. My son has an iPhone, my daughter has an iPad mini (that's basically never used), but I can never see myself switching to an iPhone.
