Why I am leaving the Nexus....

See proves my point. I read in a previous post it had the snapdragon so I made that comparison. I haven't bothered learning anything about this phone so I didn't know the processor. Yes the omap is better than the snapdragon lol. My bad. Internet gods forgive me

I don't have any signal issues, the nexus is the right phone for me. I like getting updates and the newest software is more important than the newest hardware.

I love the speed, battery life, software. this phone is amazing. I have another upgrade and you better believe I will be trying out the 3d in a few weeks

Where are these so called "updates " I keep hearing about? Everyone is quick to throw that out but here we sit over a month later and still no update for the signal issues or any thing else for that matter. You say you like this phone because you like getting updates well I guess that would be cool. How long does a Google update usually take? I know it did not take this long for HTC to "update " the 4g last year.

FALSE. my wife has the XPRT and it is just as fast as the nexus for normal use. The screen is smaller but the flip side is she can ACTUALLY MAKE CALLS THAT DON'T DROP AND CONNECT TO 3G AND WIFI WITHOUT DROPPING. Can't do that with nexus with all its bells and whistles. The android experience on the 4G is great but you can't do what a phone is suppose to do then what is the point?!?

Major complaint on the XPRT is there is no cases. The droid pro cases do not fit, the screen is slightly bigger and phone is slightly bigger.

I'm 2 days past my 30 days and I'm stuck, looks like I'll drop the phone on ebay and get the EVO or XPRT

I cannot comment on how the signal situation is since i'm not on sprint, but if your just talking about the performance of each phone in day to day situations, I've played with the Droid X and the Droid 2 enough to know that they are slllooooowwww especially once you actually start loading up the home pages with widgets. Those phones are soo sllloooow to me that it almost seems unusable. If I was to show my iphone friends a Droid X or a Droid 2, they would ask me why its so slow and laggy.

Wow. You have just proven that the problem is NOT the Nexus S. It's you.

My history with smartphones goes back as far as yours. I can't imagine trying to go back to using one of those clunky, slow, poor resolution phones. I think you've just gotten spoiled, and are forgetting how far we have come. Don't forget too, that you would need to forgo the following features, at the very least: Bluetooth, wifi, camera, predictive text, GPS, and on and on and on.

I never said I don't like my Nexus, nor that I will go back to the i500, by all modern standards is completely obsolete... I only stated that phone at the time provided me with the best user experience of all the ones I have used over the years. To each it's own...

It's the reason why the Galaxy S2 will fail when it is released in the US, crapware.

You thik waiting on updates on the NS4G is bad, wait until you experience Motorola.

Lol no the Galaxy S2 will not fail. The Galaxy S was insanely popular and the 2 will be as well. If that was the case then no skinned phones would sell.

I have to be honest, I am a little worried that the radio problem can't be fixed by an update. I also would have thought that a fix would have been rolled out by now. But it hasn't affected me too much to this point so I can tough it out until it comes. The question is, how long do we wait for them to fix the problem? That's if it can be fixed. I think that an official statement by Google, Sprint, and Samsung should be made about this issue including how they are planning to rectify this issue. The weak radios is my only complaint.

I'm totally with you on that XPRT. I really like the phone. The only reason I'm not buying it is once I upgrade, I've got to start paying that $10 premium data fee, and I refuse to do that for a non-4g phone. I'd get the XPRT in a second if it had 4G (I live in a nice 4G area) but since it doesn't, and they're gonna make me pay more, I gotta pass.

Heh, I just traded my Epic 4G for the XPRT, I am glad I did, while Samsung has some awesome hardware, I love the Treo feel of the XPRT and the Motorola Blur, etc work great, I just use Launcher Pro since I purchased it.

Before I had to use K9 mail, Mail droid, and Touchdown for Exchange for my email needs, now, I just use the native app that comes with the XPRT. The Exchange settings on the XPRT allow you to set the time you need to input your Exchange pin/password to get into your phone, not so on the Epic, everytime you powered the phone, you had to input the security pin/password. (sorry, little rant about the annoying Exchange issue)

All of my games that played on the Epic, play just as smooth on the XPRT if not better. The Epic rocked, but just love this style of phone. When the sales guy tried to sell me the Nexus, I passed, there are things that should come standard (LED notification, SD expansion) on a phone of that caliber but I guess not.

My thoughts exactly, why would it take this long if it was a simple software bug issue? Hhmmm...?
I dont know but I am keeping my Nexus until it sells on Craigslist, and people must know about it because I havent had one inquiry about it LOL!

How did you trade? And how is the battery life so far? I heard its super since its rocking a 1800 battery.

I would wait on this... wait to see if there's an update to fix it, but no i would NOT buy this phone at this time. This phone and launch has gone in the opposite direction of the Nexus 1.

I'm so glad I apparently have the only Nexus with perfect radios. It works every bit as well as my EVO did on 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth in the car. Sprint hasn't been kind enough to grace us in New Orleans with their cruddy 4G yet so I can't test that ... only good side of that is that if the mythical LTE switch is true, perhaps we'll get it early.

Sadly, I will still be in my 30 days when the EVO 3D comes out. I have no desire for anything with gimmicky 3D crap in my life, but I still might be tempted to give it a try. Damn you sprint for giving us too many new phones at once!
