Android Central Question

Hello,

I'm getting an alert when sending SMSs to more than 50 contacts. My phone is OnePlus 5T with Oreo Update. Is there a system option to remove that?

The same alert I get when using default Google Messaging app.

Thanks

This may be a carrier limitation. Can you try converting to an MMS? Some messaging apps handle group texting as MMS messages.

Hi,

Is not a carrier limitation. I used a Huawei Y6 II where the app and OS let me send more than 100 without problems. Converting to MMS is not ok for me since I need to pay for them.

Maybe there is a hidden option in Oreo to allow mass SMS since there is no spamming or malware behaviour and the user is aware of it (allows).

So, I'm searching for solutions. A similar issue is this link.

Thanks.

As the link you gave says, there's a limit in your SMS app. Check it and, if you can increase it, increase it as far as either you need or it allows.

If you are using a USA carrier, it is a carrier limitation. All the USA carriers place really small limits on the number of recipients for group SMS messages. AT&T = 10; some of the other carriers are up to 25.

They all claim it is about limiting spam. Maybe it was back in 1999. Now they are just lazy.

Hi,

I'm not from USA. It's about Europe and it's really annoying. The best approach would be to have a setting for that.

Still looking for a solution... Hoping to be solved in the next OS update
