Why i cant use any headphones on my galaxy s5?

I bought a new headphone with mic for my galaxy s 5 every time i try to call or i try to use skype my mic doesnt work i tried to put it the same headphone in my friends phone (galaxy s 5 same as mine) and it worked fine "my phone new" so i think maybe its in setting or something... can anybody help me please? Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Check to make sure there isn't any debris in the headphone jack. Use a damp toothpick to root around, or a can of compressed air to blow it out.
