Why I like the Photon better than the Evo 3D

Just remember that most posts in a forum will be about the negative aspects of any phone. Not many people come onto forums just to post about the pleasant experiences. Most come looking for answers to the few problems they have. So any indication of problems being talked about may seem like alot for any phone period. So foru.s will alwaus be littered with bugs and problems more than the good. Best way to judge a phone is first hand experience...always.

I completely agree Zigg. We are all here, I would imagine, to find answers to issues we are having with our respective phones. Could be also to find ways to tweak them out, software, etc.
I think we try and defend our purchases because we consider phones such "personal" devices...and being the geeks we are...we need to know we bought the best...so we argue which is fastest, more powerful, better looking, etc. In the end, especially with the latest group of phones out...software and especially hardware are all quite similar. I believe it is individual opinion and preference that drives our choices.

Actually, I'm making a point. When I read through the forums...it seems that whomever owns a 3D is an idiot because the Photon is SO much better. It isn't. I have the 3D, the wife has the Photon. Both are good phones...with problems unique to each. One isn't BETTER than the other...it really comes down to opinion and preference. I like the Photon a lot..better signal and speakerphone than my 3D. I just prefer the screen on the 3D better. My wife likes the screen on the Photon better..but likes the Sense weather.
The point is both phones have flaws...and one isn't an IDIOT because they chose one over the other. They are both good phones...this week anyway...until something better comes out!

Funny you say this because this is the attitude I've come across from those who own the 3D. 3D'rs act like anyone that chose the Photon is an absolute idiot and they don't mind saying so.
I owned the 3D for all of 2 weeks and it was right in line with some of the other miserable phones HTC has come out with over the years.....Yes, me & HTC go waaaaaay back!

For ME, the Evo 3D was a downgrade from my Evo 4G and I don't mind saying so which is why I purchased the Photon! Its called freedom of choice.

Speaking for myself, I don't try to defend my purchases merely because I bought it with my own money and someone else's opinion isn't going to be the driving force to make me return it. Many of us have no problem trying other phones (manufactures) and giving credit where credit is due.

HTC has made some awesome phones and some duds. 2 weeks was more than enough time for me to know the Evo 3D wasn't the device for me yet at the same time, I'm not going to waste time beating someone over the head with the box the phone came in simply because I think the Photon is an all around better device.

I think part of the problem in forums is that people spend more time than necessary insulting your purchases rather than appreciating their own.

They are both great phones. Get whatever feels best to you. It is like arguing about what truck or car or shoes or beverage is better. They are all good.
