Why I love my fascinate without 2.2

I just installed the GO Launcher and I'm lovin my Fascinate even more.

So there's been a ton of talk over 2.2, but I feel like I should point out some things that I just can't get enough of on the fascinate, and probably the other samsung galaxy S phones.

I agree, I really like these two apps, along with Memo for notes. Each time I've flashed one of the alpha 2.2 roms, I've missed these apps.

This is a fantastic phone. I've had mine for 5 or 6 weeks now and am very pleased with it after doing some basic customization (no root needed).

I'm just amazed at how people who have a such great technology IN THEIR HAND always want something new and different. I guess this handheld technology is just another form of heroin.

Been de-binged a long time, thanks to the knowledgemeisters on the forum. Now that DL09 has fixed the GPS, only other thing I want is for the speaker jacks on the car dock and desk cradle to work. If the devs can find a way to do that then Samsung and VZW can keep their frozen spoiled milk.

I couldn't agree more. I love that this phone is so awesome out of the box, and the complaints are mostly minimal.

Here's another reason why I love the Fascinate. THIS FORUM!! Seriously, it seems as if the Fascinate owners share the most information about the phone. Sure there might be a few gripes here and there but this forum is very active compared to some of the other ones. If you don't believe me, go check out to see what's up in the Continuum or Droid Pro forums. You might hear some crickets over there.

The Pro and continuum are pretty niche. The fascinate is a building block of the top shelf phones on verizon. I tell people one thing about droid phones and big screens. It's an asset. For an interface designed around a touch screen the screen is crucial. The continuum and pro both sacrifice below usable screen size for gimmicks. The continuum is for facebook addicts who like to keep it quiet, the pro is only to bait blackberry users to droid. Really that's no contest on verizon. Blackberry hasn't released anything worth looking at for a blackberry upgrade in a year. If your curve/bold's still works good why waste the money. The only reason to upgrade a blackberry now is if you have a trackball. If you get the continuum you're basically saving time to see facebook updates, and wasting it fat fingering the keyboard on the smaller screen. It's like a vortex with a decent processor and camera. meh. My .02. Rant over. (sorry if it seems rude, just talkin. )

I love my Fascinate, and this forum! I had Blackberry phones for years and would never go back. I've been able to successfully root, clean up the bloatware, install the DL09 from the XDA forums, with absolutely no problems. (wasn't able to install the latest update OTA and from what I've read it's a good thing!)

It's great that the things you don't like about the phone can be changed by searching through the forums... like the PUZZLE LOCK, eye candy? Eww I hate that thing, so the first thing I do after an update and reroot process is to go in and disable it!!

I can't see Froyo bringing anything so amazing that it's worth all the frustrations people seem to be express on here constantly.

Great point! I really like the puzzle because the sliders are boring, but it's totally cool that we both have options right

I think froyo will make everyone excited until they don't know what changed except the car dock thing.
