Welcome to Android Central! Can you give us more details? Which device? What's the exact message you're getting? Were you able to access Gmail normally before? Did you change your Google password recently, or start using 2-factory authentication?

Normally... It is asking for you to sign into your Gmail account - if you're wanting to play certain games / apps etc.

If the game includes Google Play Services. It will require you to sign in.

So, you can either choose which account you want to sign in with - or you have to create a Gmail account to access some of the features; leaderboards etc.
